Only journals that meet PubMed's rigorous scientific standards are indexed. Most free full-text articles are located in 'PubMed Central'. Simple searches can be carried out by entering key aspects of a subject into PubMed's search window, however more comprehensive searches using MeSH etc. are best carried out by your librarian.
MEDLINE, a part of PubMed, facilitates evidence-based medicine and most systematic review articles published presently build on extensive searches of MEDLINE to identify articles that might be useful in the review. MEDLINE PLUS is the consumer friendly website of MEDLINE information, offering information on health topics, drugs, prescription information and more.
