Phoenix: Citing Sources

What to sign up for and how, assignment related suggestions, and general information

Citation Management

Please be aware that MS Word's References Tool and citing programs like Zotero, RefWorks, EndNote, etc. are not perfect.

If you use these or similar applications to create a reference list for your in-text references, ALWAYS check the output against the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.

For your reference page you will need

Author :: year :: article title :: journal title :: website :: webpage :: page number :: paragraph number

APA REFERENCE FORMAT FOLLOWED BY IN-TEXT CITATION FORMAT

Example 1

Author. (date). Title of the article. Title of the Journal. Retrieved from http://www.url.com

(Author, date, para. 3)

Example 2

Title of the article. (date). Title of the Journal. Retrieved from http://www.url.com

("Title of the article", date, para. 4)

Please refer to the APA Guide for more information
