PubMed is a free search engine of life sciences and biomedical topics maintained by the NLM & NIH with over 24 million records. Only journals that meet PubMed's rigorous scientific standards are indexed. Most free full-text articles are located in 'PubMed Central'. Simple searches can be carried out by entering key aspects of a subject into PubMed's search window, however more comprehensive searches using MeSH etc. are best carried out by your librarian.
