Faculty Services

  • Course Reserves
    Faculty may place course-related materials on reserve at the library. To place materials on reserve, complete a Course Reserve Request form or contact Library Manager Judy Lee at
  • Library Instruction
    The library offers instruction on effective use of its catalog, databases, and on strategies to improve student information literacy. To request a library instruction session, please contact contact Library Manager Judy Lee at
  • Online Library Instruction
    Faculty are encouraged to implement the Online Information Literacy Module into their syllabus.  This is a three part self-learning website program that improves students' academic research and writing skills. For a walk-through contact Judy Lee at
  • Room Reserve
    Faculty may reserve the Library in advance to hold classes in the room and work on projects assisted by the Librarian on duty, or to use specific software available on Library computers. Please stop in or call 718.51.7732 to schedule. 
  • Course Guides
    Librarians can create subject, or course-specific, resource guides for your students. These guides are a helpful way of pointing your students to appropriate sources from the library and the open web. You can browse a list of our current subject guides or contact us to collaborate on creating a custom guide for your class or subject area.

    An informational guide for evaluating journal rankings, impact factor, and acceptance rates for academic journals.
  • Library Materials Request Form
    Faculty members may suggest books, journals, digital materials as well as databases and electronic resources for library purchase by completing the Library Materials Request Form. If you have questions about library acquisitions, please contact Library Manager Judy Lee at 718.517.7732 or
  • Interlibrary Loan
    Interlibrary loan services are provided through METRO New York. In person consultation is needed to place a request via our library loan partner. Please visit during standard Library hours. 
  • Off-Campus Access to Library Resources
    Library databases and electronic resources are accessible from off-campus. You will need the LIRN access code for our campus. Call 718.517.7732 during standard library hours, or ask via the chat widget on our home page.
