Centerville: Accessing eBooks

How to Access FlatWorld eBooks:

1. Login to Canvas, and click on your online class
2. On the left hand navigation menu, click on Modules link.
3. Scroll down to the Week 1 module. Under Week 1 Reading there will be links directly to the chapters. Click on a chapter then click on ‘Load Chapter in a New Window’. FlatWorld will then open in another tab. Note: you MUST access all of your FlatWorld eBooks through your Canvas module first in order for it to be synced to your FlatWorld account
4. If FlatWorld does not open, double check to ensure that pop up blockers are turned off. (When you open FlatWorld for the first time, it automatically creates an account and sends your login and reset password to your student email)
5. Direct links to the chapter reading in FlatWorld is located in all of the weekly modules.
6. Once you have accessed your books and your account, you can login to FlatWorld here: catalog.flatworldknowledge.com/sign_in

Note: Students do not need to create a FlatWorld account in order to access their eBook. 

How to Access VitalSource eBooks: 

1. Login to Canvas, and click on your online class
2. On the left hand navigation menu, click on Modules link.
3. Scroll down to the Week 1 module. Under Week 1 Reading there will be links directly to the chapters. Click on the Table of Contents of your eBook.
4. If VitalSource Bookshelf does not open, double check to ensure that pop up blockers are turned off.
5. Once your eBook has opened in VitalSource Bookshelf, you will be able to view it from the bookshelf any time until the class ends. You can access VitalSource here: https://login.vitalsource.com/institution
