Drug identification tool created by the National Library of Medicine. The drug "Explore" feature quickly identifies drugs by pictures and visual characteristics. Also search drugs by imprint, drug name or ingredient, shape, DEA schedule, & product code (etc.).

A word of caution! Some information on drugs and pharmaceuticals is produced by drugs companies. This information may be biased. The resources listed here are credible and objective.

Medlineplus
The best public health site in the U.S. Compiles information about diseases & conditions, drugs, and all health and medical topics. All resources are evaluated by the National Library of Medicine and are written by experts, doctors, and other medical specialists.
Centers for Disease Control & Prevention
"CDC works 24/7 keeping America safe from health, safety, and security threats, both foreign and domestic. Whether diseases start at home or abroad, are chronic or acute, curable or preventable, human error or deliberate attack, CDC fights disease, and supports communities and citizens to do the same." Site provided introduction.
Mayo Clinic: Patient Care and Health Information
Has strong "Treatments and drugs" information for most conditions & diseases. Use the alphabetical index to find your topic for best results.
Occupational Outlook Handbook
Well organized and unique information on careers and professions. Has breakdowns of job duties, work environment, education and training required, pay, & job outlook. The "More Information" tab usually lists professional organizations & accrediting bodies.

United States Census Bureau: Health & Nutrition
Search for your disease or condition in the top right search box. Search results are statistical tables that will contain your disease or condition. You can also scroll down to the "Health Conditions, Diseases" tables. These like the other topics have powerful summaries of health issues.
Centers for Disease Control & Prevention: Data & Statistics
See "Data & Statistics by Topic" menu for statistics on major conditions & diseases. Try links below for other conditions or diseases.
MedlinePlus "statistics" search
In the main Search MedlinePlus box, search for your disease or condition & "statistics". Example, "diabetes statistics". Results vary by topic. More common diseases & conditions have better results.
Health Indicators Warehouse
Has many tables and data sets about health care and conditions linked to demographics and population types. A simple search for "dental" in the top right "Search for indicators" box also works well.
World Health Organization Statistics
Source for international statistics on diseases and health and medical issues. "Country statistics" pages have powerful and unique summaries of a country's key health and medical statistics. Searches like "china childbirth" in the page's main search box also work well.
CDC: Sortable Risks Factors and Health Indicators
Interactive statistics table that changes when you choose different health risks, conditions, and populations. Very effective way to see how diseases and health risks affect different populations.

Florida Research and Statistics:

Tons of statistics about education, crime, agriculture, etc. Mostly Florida, but links to national information.
