American Medical Association (AMA)- helps physicians help patients by uniting physicians nationwide and medical students to work on the most important professional and public health issues.
American Nurses Association (ANA)- represents the interests of the nation's 3.1 million registered nurses. The ANA advances the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting the rights of nurses in the workplace, projecting a positive and realistic view of nursing, and by lobbying the Congress and regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting nurses and the public.
Florida Nurses Association - The Florida Nurses Association has over a century of history representing nurses regardless of specialty or area of practice. We believe in working together to create one strong voice for the protection of nurses and the communities we serve.
International Council of Nursing (ICN)-a federation of more than 130 national nurses associations, representing the more than 16 million nurses worldwide. ICN works to ensure quality nursing care for all, sound health policies globally, the advancement of nursing knowledge, and the presence worldwide of a respected nursing profession and a competent and satisfied nursing workforce.
National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR)- supports and conducts clinical and basic research and research training on health and illness across the lifespan to build the scientific foundation for clinical practice, prevent disease and disability, manage and eliminate symptoms caused by illness, and improve palliative and end-of-life care.
National League for Nurses (NLN)-promotes excellence in nursing education to build a strong and diverse nursing workforce to advance the health of our nation and the global community. The NLN has twenty-six leagues serving thirty states.
Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA)- formed in response to the growing need for concerted effort to address the issues and concerns of Filipino nurses in the USA. Recognized by ANA, it is a leading ethnic professional organization with four regional chapters.
National Black Nurses Association (NBNA)- a non-profit organization representing 150,000 African American registered nurses, licensed vocational/practical nurses, nursing students and retired nurses from the USA, Eastern Caribbean and Africa.
National Student Nurses Association (NSNA)- mentors the professional development of future registered nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance.
Asian American/Pacific Islander Nurses Association (AAPINA)- identifies and supports the health care needs of Asian Pacific Islanders (
National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN)- a non-profit professional association committed to the promotion of the professionalism and dedication of Hispanic nurses by providing equal access to educational, professional, and economic opportunities for Hispanic nurses.
