National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and celebrated by libraries across the US each April. It's a time to recognize the invaluable contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians while encouraging the greater use of library use and support. Libraries of all types- academic, public, school, and special - participate in this annual celebration.
This year's theme, Drawn to the Library!, highlights everything that makes libraries amazing. What draws people to the library? EVERYTHING! From books to digital resources to technology training and programming, libraries play a vital role in building strong, connected communities.
The mission of the Library & Resource Center or LRC is to support and enhance the educational process at the Institute, and to support the professional development and research needs of faculty and students. Accessibility of current, relevant resources for users is the guiding mission in establishing all policies and procedures, in budgeting and decision-making.
The LRC is available during school hours and operated by a qualified librarian committed to your academic success. Its offerings include a variety of resources, such as print materials, online databases, research guidance, and technical support. Equipped with desktop computers, laptops, printers, a copy machine, dryerase boards, and headphones, the LRC has resources to aid students, faculty, and staff with assignments, exams, and research projects.
